The chair's name Futu is short for Future, and the designers of the Futu had a specific goal in mind - to minimize the use of energy and raw materials in making the chair. Every component has been engineered to optimize use of the material. HAG has tried to make Futu the most environmentally friendly chair on the market.

- InBalance technology incorporated into the HAG Futu chair - a tilting function moves the chair backwards 16º and forwards 13º smoothly (can be locked in place)
- Adjustable seat height and lumbar support
- Seat depth adjustable by moving the backrest (rather than the seat itself)

- Five star aluminium base with grooved footplaces in either Black or Sliver
- Height and width adjustable arms, optional in either black plastic or with black leather tops
